Growing up, my dad had huge photo albums from the times when my parents were first married. My dad had a sixpack! My mom was glowing from her native-Hawaiian tan. Bell-bottoms were their weapon of choice, or soup of the day. There were pictures of sunsets, classic cars, and palm trees. Hawaii was where my parents met, in fact. I would go through the pages hoping to see photos of me! Unfortunately, there were only a handful they had taken of your boy. These were ones of me and my brother, and around the time when my parents separated, that’s when the very-minimal archive ceased any further submissions. When I got my first real job working at a grocery store, one of the first things I did was buy disposable cameras! These were built with the 35mm film you’d have to take to a shop to get developed. I would go thru nearly the entire roll within the day I bought it! It was predominantly photos of the sunset, my house, and over-exposed selfies! I would be super excited about dropping them off at Walmart, and within a few days, I would be able to pick them up. For the most part, the majority of the photos were bad, only a handful would make the cut to be anything close to decent. It never discouraged me from wanting to take more photos. I just never really learned the various elements of photography, nor did I invest heavily in the proper equipment.Today, we capture photos with more intentionality, understanding, and strategy.
Our family, in the midst of the shutdown caused by the pandemic, prayerfully launched our business that not only allows us to do what we have loved doing for years, but also connects us creatively with people through our gifting. We believe that our gifts are God-given, but they are not only for our enjoyment. Our gifts used for their intended purpose will showcase how amazing our God is. We are made in His image(Genesis 1:27), and our responsibility as a business will naturally highlight the beauty of life and others as we showcase His creations. We serve all people from all walks of life, our purpose is not only to impact like-minded believers, but all of his creations - people, nature, and animals included!
